Early outdoor performances and a few indoor performances impressPublished by Adam Schneider/DyeStatCollege.com editor on March 21st, 2016 Devon Allen went home to Arizona and had an impressive triple while NCAA indoor shot put runner-up Filip Mihaljevic was third at the world indoors and Keturah Orji improved her season best and almost medalled in the triple jump
Devon Allen Oregon - He ran top ten times in three events, #1 in 110m hurdles after running 13.40, #7 in 100m at 10.36, and #2 in the 200m at 20.79. So much for taking a break after the NCAA indoor championships Ronnie Baker TCU - He may have been aided by 2.7m/s wind but he still ran sub-10 at 9.95 to take the collegiate lead. Maggie Malone Texas A&M - She moved to #3 all-time among collegians after throwing 198-0 in the javelin at the Baldy Castillo Invitational. Sam Mattis Penn - Sam finally competed outdoors after winning outdoor NCAA championship and it was a big throw of 67.45m, 221-3 , #3 performer of all-time! It also qualifies him for the Olympics. Filip Mihaljevic Virginia - He set a personal record, 20.87m 68-4 3/4, and finished third at the World Indoor Championships. Courtney Okolo Texas - She won a gold medal as part of the US 4x400m relay team that 3:26.38. She also ran the fastest leg in 50.71. Keturah Orji Georgia - Until round five Keturah was in third at the World Indoor Championships but she was passed in round five and although she improved in round 6 to 14.13, 46-4 3/4 for sole posession of 5th place all-time collegiately (third among Americans) she did not medal.
